Forgiveness is not forgetting

Forgiveness has a vertical and a horizontal dimension

When I consider someone's sin as I stand before the Lord, I am called to have an attitude of forgiveness toward the person who sinned against me. This is non-negotiable.

We forgive someone of a wrong they have done us when we decide that we will not make them suffer for it in any way.

The assurance of Heaven is never given to the person. And that's why at the core of the Christian faith is the grace of God. If there's one word I would grab from all of that, it's forgiveness — that you can be forgiven. I can be forgiven, and it is of the grace of God. But once you understand that, I think the ramifications are worldwide.

Let go of offence. Let go of fear. Let go of revenge. Don't live angry, let go now!
